BIO-Gaart Altréier

In January 2021, the company "Bio-Gaart Altréier" was founded under 90% participation of OIKOPOLIS Participations SA, by gardener and managing director Willy Noesen. The 12ha area will continue to be dedicated to organic farming after the reorganisation of the gardener's farm - the Demuth family, which has retired, is leasing the land and machinery to the former BIOGROS supplier.

Parallel to the market garden, a building was erected on the opposite side of the road in 2019, which now houses a NATURATA branch. This way, a regulated sale of the gardener's own products can take place directly on site, along with a large supplementary range of other organic goods. An additional part of the nursery's products is sold through the BIOGROS wholesaler.

Willy Noesen manages the outdoor fields and grows mainly organic lettuce, but also organic radishes, kohlrabi and broccoli. His partner and former NATURATA employee Jeff Weydert from the nearby Fromberger Haff has leased the greenhouses located directly behind the neighbouring NATURATA organic farm shop. There, a large variety of organic tomatoes thrive in the four heatable greenhouses in the spirit of biodiversity. The majority of the farm's energy consumption is fed mainly from a solar system, which is supplemented by a wood chip system.
